Day 1: Marrakech-Ait Ben Haddou-Ouarzazate-Dades gorges
3 days-Marrakech desert tour ideally starts at 7:30 am. Pick up from your hotel, and leave South East towards the High Atlas Mountains. The winding road leads you up the Mountains; for reaching an altitude of 2260 m “Tichka pass”, with stunning views overlooking snow mountain peaks and remote villages. Afterwards, continue you way straight to the village “Ait benhaddou“; one of the finest complete example of ancient pre-saharian architecture in the world, as a result it was declared a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. Go on walk and discover the area, through its steeped alleyways to the upper level point dominating the skyline. Late after, drive for another 20 minutes to “Ouarzazate”known as the gateway to Sahara, and commonly named as “Hollywood of Africa”. From here, head east following the route of one thousand kasbah; through Roses valley to Dades for overnight, dinner and breakfast included.
Day 2: Dades gorges-Todra gorges-Merzouga
Depart from the hotel; visit the Dades Gorges, and then drive straight to “Todra” the fascinating palm groves oasis. Getting to the gorges, a spectacular mountain walls reaching 300 m height in places. Briefly after, you will be heading directly to Merzouga where you will be greeted by the Berbers with welcoming mint tea. Shortly, you will venture on camels to witness the beautiful sunset over the dunes; overnight at standard or luxury camp, dinner and breakfast included.
At night while having your evening meal, the locals would be happy to play their favorite drums music around a campfire. So before go to bed, you might certainly like to spend more time, enjoying the silence of the desert, and stargazing.
Day 3: Merzouga to Marrakech
Wake up early to welcome the first sun rays; have breakfast; then get on camels and ride back to the hotel.Today you will pass by the city “Rissani” the former Morocco commercial capital, and the town where the current Morocco’s ruling dynasty originated. On the way, you will also discover the Morocco’s largest valley “Draa”; cross the Anti Atlas mountains and Ouarzazate to Marrakech; end of our 3 days-Marrakech desert tour.
