Your day, step by step

Marrakech to Ouarzazate (Tazentoute) From your hotel, we will immediately heading Southeast to the High Atlas Mountains. There are such amazing views for good photos; beautiful places for break and relax. On a high level (Tichka pass-2260m), you will surprised by views overlooking the moonscapes. Another road drive us; through the former caravan route to Telouet with its old building (Kasbah Telouet). Late afternoon we drive straight to the village of Ait benhaddou (UNESCO world heritage since 1987). It would have been between one of many outlets of the commercial road connecting Sahara Africa and Marrakech; it is also an important location for filming movies. We will pause there for a break, and have lunch in one of its nicest restaurants overlooking the Kasbah. A walk is highly recommended around the village; and having lunch must be great in one of its restaurants overlooking the kasbah.

Tazentoute to Zagora After leaving the village; our next stop must be in Ouarzazate (Movie’s city, also called Hollywood of Africa, because of many movies that were filmed on site. Possible a free stroll around the village, and visiting the oldest buildings, dating from 18th century and renovated in the 19th century (Kasbah Taourirt). Next we drive through the Anti Atlas Mountains (1660 m); for reaching the city of AGDZ. Break at the village of Tamnougalt; visit (Kasbah Tamnougalte) and why not having lunch here. In the afternoon we continue our way, along the Draa valley to Zagora; while crossing numerous small berbers villages built on the banks. Overnight in a hotel or riad.

Zagora to Erg Chegaga: On the way to Erg chegaga Sand Dunes, we will stop at the village of Tamgroute. Exploring the area with a local guide, including Coran library, and factory where locals making traditional pottery. Afternoon we continue our drive to the city M’hamid which ended this paved road. After lunch; we drive for another (50km) through a sandy and stony track to Erg chegaga sand dunes. It is even better to get there early as you can rather than spending time for shopping or at the swimming pool. A ride on a camel will be available there, in order to watch the memorable sunset or sunrise on one of the highest sand hills. After dinner, you will be invited around a campfire, enjoying the silence of the desert, relaxing and stargazing while the nomads are playing on their drums. Overnight in a nomadic tent.

Erg chegaga to Marrakech Wake up early this morning, if you like to welcome the first rays of the sunshine. After having breakfast, meet your driver and ride straight to Marrakech. You will probably pass through the dried lake of Iriki; it was home for a large numbers of birds; and some wild animals. 80 km on a rocky path will take you to the next city (Foum Zguid). After crossing the city of Taznakht (famous for its beautiful geometric-patterned carpets, which have been woven here since ancient times). Late afternoon, we will get to Marrakech where you will be dropped off at your hotel/riad.
